We thank Ghanaians for supporting us throughout WAFU B Women’s tournament – Ampem Darkoa skipper Mavis Owusu

In a heartfelt expression of gratitude, Ampem Darkoa Ladies skipper Mavis Owusu extended her sincere thanks to the unwavering support of Ghanaians throughout the riveting journey of the WAFU B Women’s Tournament.

In a touching tribute, Owusu not only acknowledged the dedication of her teammates but also paid tribute to the visionary leadership of team owner Nana Fosu Gyeabour and the unwavering commitment of the technical team.

Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies defeated Delta Queens of Nigeria 1-0 in the final of the WAFU B Women’s Champions League at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Thursday afternoon.

Striker Ophelia Amponsah scored the only goal of the game for Ampem Darkoa two minutes before the break.

“First I give thanks to God, god has done a lot for Ampem Darkoa this year the honour placed on us is unimaginable. Thanks to all Ghanaians, Nana Fosu Gyeabour team members, and all the players,” she told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

“We thanks everyone the place we are now if it wasn’t the prayers of Ghanaians and God we wouldn’t have reached this point.

“The little I will say is that we thank everyone we have qualified and moving forward the place we are going too the support shouldn’t stop they should prayer for us and we know when we reach Ivory Coast we won’t disgrace them we will honour them,”
