We lost to Accra Lions because we couldn’t press to stop them from attacking from the back – Gold Stars coach Frimpong Manso

Coach for Bibiani Gold Stars, Stephen Frimpong Manso has indicated that his team lost to Accra Lions because players were not in the best shape physically to compete.

In a Week 26 contest played on Monday, Accra Lions scored twice to secure an important victory.

According to Coach Frimpong Manso, his players went into the game with less energy after playing multiple games in just a few days.

Speaking in a post-match interview after Gold Stars lost 2-0 to Accra Lions, Coach Frimpong Manso said his team needed to press to stop the opponent from attacking from the back but couldn’t do so.

“It was a very difficult game. What we needed to do today was to prevent them from attacking from the back. We needed to press them and it was difficult. Travelling to Accra and playing two games in a week it was very difficult and we were not in a good physical position to deal with them,” the coach said.

Putting the defeat behind his team, Coach Frimpong Manso has assured fans that the team will work hard to get a win in their next outing.
