Black Stars coach Otto Addo says Ghana still have “months” to refine every aspect of their play ahead of the 2026 World Cup, stressing the need for sharper execution in all phases of the game.
Speaking after Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to South Korea in Seoul, Addo acknowledged progress compared to last week’s 2-0 defeat to Japan, but emphasized that improvement is crucial before the tournament.
“For the World Cup, there are still months to improve; pressing, creating chances, and preventing them,” Addo said. “Japan are currently on a very high level, and South Korea also did well today.”
The hosts broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute when Lee Tae-Seok headed in a precise cross from Lee Kang-In. Ghana remained in contention as goalkeeper Benjamin Asare saved a penalty from Hwang Hee-Chan. Late goals from Kwabena Adu and Jonas Adjei Adjetey were ruled out for offside, denying a comeback.
The defeat left Ghana with back-to-back losses on their Asian tour, highlighting areas to fine-tune before the World Cup.
