Black Stars coach Otto Addo has revealed that injuries to key players forced him to field a side that has “rarely played together” in Friday’s 2-0 defeat to Japan in the Kirin Challenge Cup.

With several first-choice players sidelined, Addo admitted the lack of cohesion contributed to Ghana’s disjointed performance.

“We had many new boys on the pitch. They will learn, but we must improve quickly,” he said, stressing the need to find unity and sharper attacking movements ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Black Stars now turn their attention to Friday’s friendly against South Korea as part of their World Cup preparations.
