We have chosen not to pursue an appeal – Nations accept GFA disciplinary committee verdict after abandoning game

Nations Football Club has reacted to the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee’s ruling on the abandoned Week 33 Premier League match against Holy Stars. The committee fined Nations FC GHS2,500, with GHS1,250 going to Holy Stars and GHS1,250 to the GFA, for causing the match’s abandonment. Nations FC also forfeited the match 3-0 and had three points deducted, dropping them to fifth place with 57 points.Despite disagreeing with parts of the ruling, Nations FC has chosen not to appeal. “We acknowledge the Disciplinary Committee’s decision, albeit with disappointment,” the club stated. “While we disagree with key aspects of the ruling, we have chosen not to pursue an appeal. In our game, doing the right thing doesn’t always guarantee the right outcome. But we remain unwavering in our commitment to fairness, safety, and the values this club stands for.” The club is standing by its values despite the outcome. This decision shows Nations FC’s commitment to sportsmanship and fair play. The club’s statement reflects their acceptance of the ruling and dedication to the sport’s principles.
