The chairman of the Committee put together to find a new head coach for the Black Stars, Mark Addo has indicated that over 500 coaches applied for the job.

According to him, the screening process has already started and the committee expects to finish that process by next week.

“This is my second time leading a committee to pick a coach, and I can tell Ghanaians that we will hire the Best coach for the Black Stars according to the criteria.

“We received over 500 applications for the job and have shortlisted a handful. We are currently going through them and want to finish by next week,” Mark Addo said in an interview with Akoma FM.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President speaking on the performance of the Black Stars at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament said it was not the best.

He said the Ghana FA did not like the outcome and will do everything to ensure things get better in the future.

“Nobody wants outcomes more than we (the FA), believe me; it just so happens that things don’t always go as planned for various reasons, but we must keep moving forward,” Mark Addo assured.
