Ghana’s Black Princesses have booked their place in the next round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after overcoming South Africa.
The young Ghanaians secured a narrow but decisive 1–0 win in the return leg at the Nelspruit-Mbombela Stadium.
With the first leg in Accra ending 2–2, the away victory ensured Ghana progressed on aggregate.
A tightly contested first half produced no goals, as both sides battled for control.
After the interval, Ghana raised the tempo and began to dictate play in midfield.
Priscilla Mensah delivered the breakthrough in the 63rd minute, calmly finishing to tilt the tie in Ghana’s favour.
Attention now shifts to the next hurdle, where Zambia or Uganda could stand in their path.
The Black Princesses remain focused on securing what would be their eighth straight appearance at the tournament, set for Poland later this year.
