Black Queens midfielder Jennifer Cudjoe has described Algeria as one of the toughest opponents at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), as Ghana prepares for a crucial quarter-final showdown.
The two sides will lock horns on Saturday, July 19, at the Stade de Berkane. Ghana booked their place in the last eight with an emphatic 4-1 win over Tanzania in their final Group C fixture.
Algeria, on the other hand, advanced from a competitive Group B that featured Nigeria, Tunisia, and Botswan, finishing unbeaten and without conceding a goal.
“They are definitely one of the strongest teams,” Jennifer told JoySports.
“It’ll be similar to facing Morocco or Tunisia. I think it’s going to be a good game.
“We know why we’re here. We know what we’re thinking. Our focus is to go in with the mentality to win. It’s not going to be easy, but we’ll tackle it with the information and preparation we have and go all out.”
The Black Queens are aiming to reach the semi-finals of WAFCON for the first time since 2016.
