Ghanaian forward Kwabena Owusu was on target for Qarabag FK in their 3-1 win over Kapaz PFK on Sunday in the Azerbaijan Premier League.
The 25-year-old put up an impressive display as he helped his side secure all three points at home.
Ramil Teymurovich Sheydayev opened the scoring for Qarabag FK in the 16th minute via the penalty spot.
After the break, Kapaz equalised through Yusif Nabiyev in the 75th minute, however, just one minute later the hosts restored their lead again courtesy of Musa Gurban oglu Gurbanli’s strike.
Owusu put the game beyond the visitors after scoring the third goal in the 79th minute as Azerbaijan giants sealed a 3-1 home win to open a two points gap at the top of the league table with a game in hand.
Qarabag FK picked up the maximum points in their first game after suffering elimination from the UEFA Europa League to UEFA Europa Conference League.
The Ghana international has now scored nine goals and provided three assists in 25 across all competitions this season for Qarabag.
