Ghana international, Joseph Paintsil scored with a composed finish on Thursday night to seal a 2-0 win for KRC Genk in the clash against Cukaricki in the Europa Conference League.
The forward started for the Belgians in the Round 6 game of the Conference League group stage.
Very early in the game, KRC Genk had a penalty kick and a chance to take the lead.
Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil stepped up to take the penalty but unfortunately missed from 12 yards.
Despite the setback, the Black Stars forward remained confident and put in a very good shift.
He was key for his team when the team equalised in the 21st minute through Bryan Heynen to take a narrow 1-0 lead into the first-half break.
Although Genk would play with 10 men in the second half, the team still played well.
In the 57th minute, winger Joseph Paintsil made amends for his penalty miss as he scored to seal a 2-0 win for Genk.
Despite the win, KRC Genk missed out on qualification to the knockout stage of the competition after finishing third.
