VIDEO: Partey nets screamer as Arsenal trounce Nottingham Forest

Ghana’s Thomas Partey was among the scorers as Arsenal knocked five past Nottingham Forest to the summit of the 2022/23 English Premier League Sunday afternoon.

It didn’t take long for Mikel Arteta’s side to take the lead at a capacity Emirates Stadium.

Gabriel Martinelli headed in from a Bukayo Saka cross in the fifth minute.

Reiss Nelson – who came on for injured Saka – made it 2-0 in the 49th minute and three minutes later, the 22-year-old bagged another as Arsenal continued to cause the visitors all sorts of problems with their attacking intent.

Midfielder Partey then netted for the second time this season to make it 4-0 with 57 minutes played – a strike that could potentially win the Premier League goal of the month award. Watch goal.

Skipper Martin Odegaard put the icing on top of the cake with 12 minutes left of normal time to make it 5-0.

Arsenal sit top of the Premier League with 31 points, two ahead of reigning champions Manchester City after 12 games.
