VIDEO: Partey header helps Arsenal to 2-0 win over Leicester

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey scored a cracking header for Arsenal in their 2-0 win over Leicester City at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The goal was the 28-year-old’s second for the Gunners since joining them last season from Atletico Madrid as they reclaim the fourth spot in the Premier League standings.

Just after being crowned Arsenal’s Player of the Month for February last week, Partey headed in the opener from a Gabriel Martinelli corner in 11 minutes.

Captain Alexandre Lacazette doubled the lead for Mikel Arteta’s side a minute to the hour mark from the spot when the ball hit the fingers of Caglar Soyuncu courtesy of Partey’s header.

Arsenal held on to pick a 2-0 win at home and moved into top four with 51 points, one above Manchester United in fifth.

Thomas Partey is now enjoying life in the Premier League after a very difficult first season, playing 21 league games, where he scored twice and provided an assist.

His season is peaking at a time he’s expected to lead Ghana against Nigeria in the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifying playoffs late in March.

Another Ghanaian – Daniel Amartey – featured 90 minutes as a centre-back for Leicester City.
