VIDEO: Kwabena Owusu scores as Qarabag hold Ferencvaros in UCL qualifiers

Ghana forward Kwabena Owusu scored for Qarabag in their 1-1 draw against Ferencvaros in Wednesday’s Champions League first leg, third qualifying round encounter.

Owusu, who lasted the entire duration of the game put up an impressive display as he helped his side avoid defeat against the reigning Hungarian champions at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium.

Ferencvaros took an early lead in the 17th minute of the game through Cote d’Ivoire’s Franck Boli who beat goalkeeper Shakhrudin Magomedaliyev.

However, Owusu bagged the equaliser for the hosts after he was teed up by Philip Ozobic in the 34th minute.

In the second half, the teams were matched evenly as the game ended on a no winner.

Both teams will face each other in Budapest on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 with the winners on aggregate qualifying for the next round where they will join 11 other teams in the play-off round.

Owusu has made five appearances for Qarabag so far this season and scored two  goals in the process.
