Goalkeeper Richard Kingson insists he is unfazed by the uproar generated over his return to the Ghana national team.
The experienced goalkeeper has been recalled into the Black Stars for the crucial 2014 World Cup playoff against Egypt on October 15.
Kingson is thus in line to making his return to the national team after two years in the wilderness due to his clublessness.
But upon securing a move to Cypriot club Doxa Katokopia and churning out consistent displays, the 35-year-old had been recalled into the Black Stars.
Many are however against the decision to return Kingson and have made their feelings known in no uncertain terms on several social media platforms.
But the former Blackpool shot-stopper says he is not worried by the huge public uproar against him and rather feels challenged to prove his critics wrong.
“I have to come and help my nation,” he said.
“I am not panicking over what people are saying. It is rather serving as a challenge.
“I will come and do my best as always for Ghana and by the grace of God we will win.”
Kingson will be competing for a starting place against Egypt with Adam Kwarasey and Fatawu Dauda.
