Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has praised Manchester City’s new signing, Antoine Semenyo, saying, “Antoine’s had an incredible season. I’m a big admirer of his and he scored on his debut, so fair play to him. I think Man City have signed a very, very good player.”
Semenyo, the Ghanaian forward, joined City from Bournemouth for £64 million, signing a five-and-a-half-year deal.
He made an instant impact, scoring and assisting in City’s 10-1 FA Cup win over Exeter City.
Howe’s comments come ahead of Newcastle’s Carabao Cup semi-final clash with City.
Semenyo’s impressive form, including 11 goals in all competitions this season, has caught the attention of football fans.
City’s assistant manager, Pep Lijnders, also praised Semenyo’s adaptability and work rate.
