Valencia’s Hélder Costa set for Leeds return

Hélder Costa is set to return to Leeds in the summer after failing to command a place at Valencia.

The Premier League side was due to get a sum of £8m should have Valencia decided to make in the player permanently but that won’t happen as the Laliga side feels he has not done enough to earn a deal.

After breaking into the Valencia side and starting 10 of 11 LaLiga contests, the Angola international has been limited to just 76 minutes over the last 11 games combined.

The player’s position at the club was complicated by the arrival of Bryan Gil on loan from Tottenham on the final day of the January window who has since taken over Costa’s place in the starting XI.

Costa has played a total of 27 games this season, 25 of those at Valencia, failing even to score a single goal.
