Togo and Ghana defender Kennedy Boateng, currently without a club after leaving FC Dinamo, is being linked with a move to Univ. Craiova in Romania’s SuperLiga.
Boateng, 29, is a right-footed centre-back who joined Dinamo from Austrian side Austria Lustenau in July 2024 on a free transfer. He departed the Romanian club on 1 July 2026 and is now available ahead of a possible switch within the SuperLiga.
The defender has made 53 appearances in Romania’s top flight, scoring six goals and providing one assist. His career also includes 90 appearances in Austria’s 2. Liga, where he won the competition twice with SV Ried and LASK.
Boateng’s highest recorded market value is €1.2m, the figure attached to him as he became unattached. He has also played in Portugal’s Liga Portugal, making 52 appearances for Santa Clara, and featured 41 times in the Bundesliga during his career.
Univ. Craiova are the club currently linked with the defender, although the move remains at the rumour stage. Boateng’s current status is that of an unattached player following the end of his spell with FC Dinamo.
