Ghana hit a perfect 7 on Saturday to complete a 10-1 aggregate victory over Guinea in the penultimate round of the African qualifiers to the India 2022 Fifa U-17 Women’s World Cup.
A fortnight ago, the Black Maidens recorded a 3-1 win in Conakry and this afternoon at Cape Coast Sports Stadium emphasized they were just too strong for their West African neighbours.
Nancy Amoh incredibly scored twice directly from the corner kick in the 12th and 29th minutes while captain Georgina Aoyem also fortuitously netted in between in the 18th as Ghana took a 3-0 lead into the break.
Kubura Dejean, came off the bench alongside Constance Serwaa Agyemang in a double halftime substitution by coach Baba Nuhu and made it 4-0 in the 49th minute after rounding goalkeeper Coumbassa.
Mary Amponsah registered Ghana’s 5th goal with a nice strike in the 53rd minute.
Like her fellow substitute, forward Constance Serwaa Agyemang joined the scoresheet by scoring twice with a top corner finish in the 70th minute and a free-kick in the 81st to complete the 7-goal haul.
Ghana will next meet Morocco in the final hurdle for a slot to the U-17 Women’s World Cup.
