Transfers: Bernd Leno agent confirms Fulham interest

Fulham are attempting to entice Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno away from the Emirates Stadium this summer, according to his agency.

In the 2021-22 season, Leno lost his starting spot to Aaron Ramsdale, and he is anticipated to leave in the coming weeks after spending most of the season on the bench.

Joannis Koukoutrigas, Leno’s agent, has verified the Cottagers’ interest in his client. However, both sides are unconcerned with the issue, and Koukoutrigas feels Leno is the “clear number one” in North London.

“Fulham is trying hard to get Bernd. Very professionally. This is also true for some other clubs and shows his status. But as I said, for me he is the number one at Arsenal and we are therefore also relaxed,” Koukoutrigas told Bild.

“He is a German national goalkeeper, has always performed well at Arsenal, and is an absolute team player. For me personally, Bernd is also the clear number 1 at Arsenal. With all due respect to the competitors.”

Since joining Arsenal in the summer of 2018, Leno has maintained 37 clean sheets in 125 appearances for the Gunners, winning one FA Cup and one Community Shield.

Last season, though, the former Stuttgart youth only donned the gloves eight times across all competitions, including four times in the Premier League.

In the 2021-22 Premier League season, Leno began Arsenal’s first three defeats to Brentford, Chelsea, and Manchester City before keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 win against Aston Villa in March when Ramsdale was in the medical room.
