Tottenham come to decision on future of on-loan Gollini

Word stemming from the Italian media on Thursday suggests that Tottenham Hotspur have come to a decision on the future of on-loan goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.

Shot-stopper Gollini of course made the move to north London on a temporary basis last summer.

On the back of the departure of Joe Hart, deemed not up to scratch by now-former Lilywhites boss Nuno Espirito Santo, the transfer team at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium identified Gollini as the ideal backup option to no.1 Hugo Lloris.

The Italian international, in turn, linked up with Spurs on loan, with the capital outfit having also secured an option to buy as part of the deal.

If the latest word stemming from his home country on Thursday is anything to go by, though, then those in a position of power at Tottenham actually opting to activate their option on Gollini, as things stand, appears altogether unlikely.

As per a report from the Gazzetta dello Sport, Antonio Conte and co. have come to the decision not to keep hold of their backup shot-stopper for next season.

Gollini, as a result, is set to return to Atalanta, before being moved on on a permanent basis in the summer.

Outflux imminent?

Interestingly, word of Spurs’ call on Gollini comes fresh on the back of further claims that the north Londoners are ready to part with as many as seven members of the club’s first-team squad ahead of next season.

As per a report from Dan Kilpatrick of the Evening Standard, Conte is expected to sanction the departures of all of Davinson Sanchez, Emerson Royal, Sergio Reguilon, Harry Winks and Joe Rodon, with Lucas Moura and Matt Doherty also potentially on the chopping block.
