Former Black Stars international Anthony Yeboah, profoundly known as Tony Yeboah, has seen his long-standing mural put up in honour of his stellar performances, still intact after 29 years in Frankfurt.
The almost three decade mural was spotted in the city of Frankfurt, which is being used as one of the host city’s for the ongoing European Championships.
Much to the amusement of Ghanaians, the mural does not look disfigured and still holds shape, bearing the face of the iconic forward with German inscriptions.
Yeboah featured for Frankfurt from 1990 – 1995, bagging 68 goals in 123 appearances, including winning the German top scorer twice in 1992/93 and 1993/94 season.
The forward was known for his remarkable predatory instincts in front of goal while in Germany, before leaving the German outfit and tearing up the Premier League for Leeds United in the 1995 Premier league season.
The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker, who scored 29 goals in 59 appearances for the Black Stars, finished as runner-up in the African best player of the year award gala twice; third in 1992 and second in 1993.
