Tony Yeboah, Yegoala, widely known in Ghana football circles, turns 59.
A legendary striker, Yeboah is widely regarded as one of the greatest African footballers of all time.
Born on June 6, 1966, Yeboah’s illustrious career was marked by numerous achievements and accolades.
During his playing days, Yeboah plied his trade in Germany, where he played for club Eintracht Frankfurt.
Before moving to Germany, the striker had scored over 40 goals whilst playing for Okwahu United in the Ghana Premier League.
Yeboah went on to feature for Leeds United after clinching the Bundesliga top scorer gong twice at Frankfurt, becoming the first Frucan player to win the top scorer award in two consecutive seasons.
At Leeds, Yeboah became a cult hero. In 66 games for the club, he scored 32 goals, including 24 in the Premier League.
He was a prolific goal-scorer, known for his incredible speed, skill, and finishing ability.
In the Black Stars, he played a key role in the Ghana’s 1992 African Cup of Nations campaign, where the team finished as runners up to Ivory Coast.
Yeboah’s goals are still remembered as a highlight of his career.
