Togo have reneged on their commitment to play the Black Queens of Ghana in an international friendly this weekend, it has emerged.
The Federations of the cross-border neighbours had reached an agreement to utilise the February international window for their respective senior women’s national teams to face off in a game on Saturday the 25.
The Togolese, however, notified Ghana of their unavailability some three days prior to the scheduled friendly clash.
“Our opponents pulled out at the eleventh hour leaving no room for replacement,” a Twitter post on the official handle for Ghana’s women’s national teams stated on Wednesday evening.
“Further updates shall be provided on future engagements of the #BlackQueens,” the tweet added.
