Thomas Partey’s wonderful strike against bitter rivals Arsenal has been nominated for Premier League goal of the month for October.
In a 3-1 victory for Arsenal, Thomas Partey opened the scoring with a first-time effort from the edge of the box into the top corner past a stunned Hugo Lloris.
The Premier League has recognized the strike, which has been considered for the goal of the month award, along with two long-range strikes from Kevin de Bruyne against Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester City, and Miguel Almiron’s superb volley for Newcastle United against Fulham.
Partey, together with Granit Xhaka in the middle of the pitch, has proven crucial for Arsenal.
Arsenal will take on Zurich in the Uefa Europa League in their next game. In the Europa League, this season Thomas Partey has made three appearances.
