With less than two months to the start of the 2022 World Cup, Ghana and Arsenal will need Thomas Partey to stay fit.
The 28 year old was pivotal in the Gunners 3-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby last week.
During the September international window, Partey was expected to feature against Brazil and Nicaragua.
However, the midfielder was ruled out of the games after suffering a discomfort during warm up ahead of the Brazil game.
As a precautionary measure, the former Athletico Madrid middle was left out of the games.
Partey was granted the permission to fly back to London to treat the minor injury by the Ghana Football Association [GFA].
However, the Ghana deputy skipper was named in Arsenal starting XI against their North London rivals and scored the opener with a beautiful cruller.
Following Partey’s explosive performance, Mikel Arteta and his backroom staff will hope to see more impressive performance from the midfielder as they hope to win the Premier League title.
After not being able to feature against Brazil and Nicaragua, Partey was dearly missed in the Ghana midfield.
And ahead of the World Cup, Otto Addo and his technical team will hope Partey will stay fit.
Partey is expected to play a key role Black Stars’s midfield as they hope to lift up their performance after suffering a humiliation during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Ghana have been housed in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
