Thomas Partey set to snub Saudi millions in favor of Arsenal stay

Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is leaning toward extending his stay at Arsenal, despite receiving massive offers from clubs in the Saudi Pro League, according to fresh reports.

The 31-year-old is said to be prioritizing his desire to continue playing at the highest level in Europe, rather than chasing a lucrative payday in the Middle East.

Partey’s preference is to remain with the Gunners, where he has grown into a vital part of Mikel Arteta’s plans since arriving in 2020 from Atlético Madrid for £45 million.

Well-regarded for his ability to break up play and dictate tempo from deep, Partey has played a crucial role in Arsenal’s impressive campaign.

He’s made 50 appearances this season, chipping in with four goals and two assists while providing the midfield backbone for Arteta’s high-intensity system.

Despite reported interest from former club Atlético Madrid, as well as European heavyweights Barcelona and Juventus, Partey is said to be focused on staying in North London.

Arsenal, in turn, are eager to keep one of their most experienced heads and are actively working to tie him down with a new deal.

Contract talks are already underway, and both parties are optimistic that an agreement can be reached before the Gunners wrap up their season with a final home clash against Southampton next week.

Should a new contract be finalized, it would mark a significant boost for Arsenal, who are keen on maintaining squad consistency as they aim for sustained success in both the Premier League and Europe.

With Partey committed to continuing his journey at the Emirates, fans may soon see him remain a central figure in Arsenal’s midfield for seasons to come.
