Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has stated that midfielder Thomas Partey makes his team better when he is fully fit.
Thomas Partey has rejoined the squad in training after a prolonged absence of nearly three months.
The Ghanaian maestro, whose last appearance for the Gunners dates back to October 24, 2023, was sidelined due to a persistent muscle injury that kept fans on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting news of his recovery
Partey missed the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which is been held in Ivory Coast.
This injury setback marked the first time Partey has missed an AFCON since his debut in 2016. The midfielder had consistently featured in three consecutive AFCON tournaments – 2017, 2019, and 2021.
“He always looks strong and very good. That’s not the issue, it’s that we need him,” Arteta said.
“And we need him fit and available because he makes us better.
“We are better when Thomas is in the team,”
The 30-year-old has made four appearances in the English Premier League this season.
The Gunners will face Nottingham Forest away on January 30th.
