Communication Director of the Ghana Football club Henry Asante Twum, has dismissed speculation that Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey missed the Black Stars’ call-up due to injury.

Asante revealed that Partey fell ill after Arsenal’s win over Southampton, contrary to reports of an injury.

“Partey isn’t injured but rather illness. He is sick and not injured as speculations say. It isn’t malaria and I can’t disclose the kind of illness he is suffering from at the moment,” Asante told Asempa FM

“It is not everything we can put in the public domain and of course, if it is not an illness that everyone [around] him knows, I wouldn’t say he is sick. I can’t, however, bring out his medical record.”

The Black Stars face Sudan in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers on Thursday, October 10 before traveling to Libya for the reverse fixture on October 15.
