Brandon Thomas-Asante is back in training after a two-month absence due to a hamstring tear sustained during Coventry City’s Championship game against Middlesbrough in late November.
The Ghanaian forward was pictured in full training on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Coventry’s training ground, Ryton, indicating he’s nearing a return to action.
Before injury struck, Thomas-Asante had been one of Coventry’s standout performers, registering 10 goals and three assists in just 17 Championship appearances.
Manager Frank Lampard confirmed he’s in contention for Saturday’s M69 derby against Leicester City, saying, “Torpy and Brandon are in contention for tomorrow.”
Thomas-Asante’s return is a major boost for Coventry, who have struggled without him, winning only two games in their last 10 matches.
His pace, movement, and goal threat will be crucial for Coventry’s title push.
