Head coach of FC Samartex 1996, Christopher Ennin, has thrown his support behind struggling Hohoe United, urging them to keep fighting as the relegation battle intensifies in the Ghana Premier League.
Hohoe United reignited belief with a gritty 1-0 win over the Timber Giants at the Hohoe Sports Stadium — a result carved out of discipline, resilience, and one decisive moment.
After a cagey first half where both sides probed without precision, the breakthrough came just three minutes into the second half. A sharp attacking move released Kekeli Attor, who held his nerve and rifled home in the 48th minute, sending the home crowd into raptures.
Samartex responded with urgency, pouring men forward in search of parity. But Hohoe stood firm — organised at the back, dangerous on the break, and fuelled by desperation.
Despite the loss, Ennin’s message was one of encouragement, not frustration.
“Hohoe United must keep pushing. When you’re in the relegation zone, you’re always under pressure,” he declared.
“I’ll urge them to stay focused and continue fighting ; the sky is the limit. With the right mindset and determination, they can secure their place in the league.”
The numbers underline the tension.
After 24 matches, Samartex sit sixth with 36 points — stable, but not safe from the chaos below. Hohoe United remain 16th with 27 points, locked in a survival scrap where every point feels like gold.
