After PSG’s victory yesterday in Corsica, this 12th day of Ligue 1 continues with the trip from OL to Montpellier, and especially the meeting between Olympique de Marseille and RC Lens. It is quite simply the 3rd who goes to the 4th. A top-of-the-table duel that already smells of future European games. The Phocaeans also need points after losing their last two Ligue 1 games at home against Ajaccio and at the Parc against PSG last Sunday. It’s high time to get it right.
This does not mean that Igor Tudor will change his formula. The Croatian will line up his usual 3-4-3 with Pau Lopez in goal but he will have to review his defense. Gigot is suspended and Bailly is injured. It is therefore the impeccable Mbemba who will start on the right axis with Balerdi in the center and Kolasinac on the left. The bet is risky because, back from injury, the former Gunner has not played since September 18th. There is also a small chance of seeing Isaak Touré start.
Guendouzi and Harit in support of Sanchez
Clauss and Tavares will animate the wings, while Rongier and Veretout will form the double pivot in the midfield. Finally in front, Alexis Sanchez is expected to start at a peak, supported by Guendouzi and Harit, the man in form on the Marseille side. In Lens too, there is a lack of people, but Franck Haise still has a few cartridges in his squad. Samba will start in goal, returning to the Vélodrome. It will be protected by a Haïdara-Danso-Medina defense.
Gradit is still in the recovery phase, while Cabot is likely out for the rest of the season. It is therefore Frankowski who will start in the right lane, Machado on the left and captain Fofana will be assisted by Abdul Samed, author of a very good start to the season. In front, it is Sotoca and the young Pereira Da Costa who will accompany the striker, Openda. With this team in 3-4-3, the Sang-et-Or will try to confirm their victory against Montpellier, and why not, to overtake Lorient.
