In the latter, the outlet reveals documents that are part of the ongoing judicial investigation into Barca’s management under Josep Bartomeu’s presidency. The latter have notably published the XXL requests made by Leo Messi to extend his contract with the Blaugranas in 2020.

Through a press release, Barça regretted the publication of these confidential documents: “FC Barcelona expresses its indignation at the interested leak of certain information which would be part of a judicial investigation procedure. The Club also regrets that the media boasts of having had “access to a huge amount of documentation and emails that are in possession of the Barçagate investigation” while this information and documentation has not yet been shared with the parts. »
Barça could file a complaint
Barça intends to take the case to court: “In any event, the article in question makes public documents that have nothing to do with the investigation of the case and their use threatens the reputation and confidentiality of the Club. For this reason, and with the aim of protecting the rights of FC Barcelona, the legal services of the Club are already studying the appropriate measures to be taken. »
