Thank you England; it was an honour to represent the country – Tariq Lamptey after Ghana switch

New Black Stars addition, Tariq Lamptey has expressed his appreciation to England for the opportunity to represent the country.

This is contained in a statement by the player after confirming that he has successfully completed his nationality switch to play for Ghana.

The youngster in the past represented England at various youth national team levels.

After several discussions, the player has now decided that he will play for Ghana at the senior national team level.

While he prepares for his debut Ghana appearance, Tariq Lamptey has expressed his appreciation to England and everyone that has helped him.

“I’d like to take a moment to thank England and everyone involved in my journey so far, had some unbelievable memories, I’m grateful for everyone who’s helped me along the way coaches, staff, players and fans. It was an honour to wear the shirt and represent the country thank you,” Tariq Lamptey has posted on his Twitter page.

The youngster is looking forward to Ghana’s international friendly matches against Brazil and Nicaragua later this month.

Having been named in the latest assembled Black Stars squad, the versatile player is in line to debut in the upcoming games.
