Tamale derby takes centre stage as RTU and Tamale City battle for top spot

Real Tamale United and Tamale City will renew their fierce rivalry on Matchday 10 of the Access Bank Division One League, with the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium set to host a top-of-the-table showdown on Saturday.

Tamale City sit first in Zone One A with 21 points, two clear of RTU. Both sides remain unbeaten after nine games, but City have held the edge with six wins and three draws, while RTU trail closely with five victories and four draws.
The stakes are high, with the winner taking control of the race for the Premier League playoff slot.

Kickoff is at 3 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

In Zone One B, leaders Debibi United continue their impressive charge as they visit Victory Club Warriors on Sunday. Debibi have won eight of their nine matches and top the standings with 25 points ;  a commanding nine-point cushion over KAC Soccer Academy.

The weekend action begins on Friday at the Ohene Ameyaw Park, where former Premier League sides Legon Cities and Berekum Arsenal — currently bottom of the zone with seven and five points  meet in a battle to revive their campaigns.
