Tacoma Defiance have secured the signing of 19-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Charles Dodzi on an MLS NEXT Pro contract for the 2025 season.
This move, which highlights the team’s commitment to nurturing young talent, was brokered by super agent Ibrahim Sana
Dodzi spent last season with DME Academy in Florida, where he refined his skills and caught the attention of scouts.
His impressive résumé includes representing Ghana at various youth levels and participating in a U.S. Men’s Youth National Team U-19 camp.
The team’s Director of Development, Wade Webber, expressed enthusiasm about Dodzi’s addition, praising his eagerness to learn and his exciting profile as a midfielder.
“We are excited for Charles to join Defiance. He is young, has an exciting profile as a midfielder, and has demonstrated an encouraging eagerness and capacity to learn,” said Webber.
Head Coach Hervé Diese also welcomed Dodzi, highlighting his playstyle and describing him as a valuable asset to the team.
