Swedru All Blacks have explained the rationale behind their recent managerial shake-up, insisting the appointment of Kassim Ocansey Mingle underlines the club’s determination to reinforce its technical direction and stabilise performances.
The Ghana Premier League outfit parted company with Ahmed Fathi earlier this week, pointing to a blend of factors — most notably the need for greater experience on the bench during a demanding stretch of the season.
The decision arrives at a critical moment for the club, who currently sit 14th on the league table with 24 points, only one point above the relegation zone after a string of inconsistent results.
Mingle has already overseen his first match in charge, suffering a narrow 1–0 defeat to Bibiani Gold Stars, but club officials remain upbeat about the long-term outlook.
Public Relations Officer Nathaniel Obeng emphasised that the change was made with the future in mind, highlighting the value of experience and tactical authority in guiding the team forward.
“Though we lost [against Gold Stars], there were huge positives we can build upon, and we are optimistic that Kassim Mingle will be able to take us to the level that all of us are looking for,” Obeng stated.
All Blacks now shift focus to their MTN FA Cup Round of 16 clash against Nations FC on February 7, a fixture made even more intriguing by Mingle’s previous ties with the opposition, adding an extra layer of narrative to an already high-stakes encounter.
