Former Black Stars midfielder Sulley Muntari has expressed his disappointment and frustration over the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) decision to sideline football legend Abedi Pele.
In a recent interview with 3Sports, Muntari questioned the wisdom behind the GFA’s failure to utilize Abedi Pele’s wealth of experience and expertise in key administrative roles.
Muntari, who had a illustrious career with top European clubs like AC Milan and Inter Milan, believes that Abedi Pele’s involvement in Ghanaian football administration would be a game-changer.
In an interview with 3Sports, the former AC Milan and Inter Milan star said “Let’s ask ourselves, where is Abedi Pele? Why isn’t Abedi coming around? Why is Tony Yeboah not coming around?” Muntari asked, emphasizing that these “triple legends” possess unmatched expertise.
“When Abedi Pele is in the system, you put him in the right place. I’m not talking about coaching,” he added.
Muntari’s comment comes after the poor state of the country’s football especially Black Stars failure fo secured qualifications to the 2025 African Cup of Nations slated for Morocco
