Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has thrown light-hearted jabs at the Black Stars’ 2026 World Cup opponents after Friday night’s draw in Washington, D.C.
Ghana has been placed in Group L alongside Panama, 1966 champions England, and 2018 finalists Croatia—three teams the Black Stars have never faced at the World Cup.
Appiah, who captained Ghana at their debut tournament in 2006 and now serves on the national team’s management team, watched the draw unfold in the U.S. capital. Moments later, he took to Instagram with a confident message, posting a clip from Beasts of No Nation and writing:
“England, Croatia, Ghana and Panama, we are COMING!”
His reaction has already fired up fans ahead of what promises to be a thrilling group, especially the highly anticipated clash with England.
