Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Stephen Appiah, says he is confident Ghana has the quality to make a real impact at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With the group-stage draw set for later today in Washington, DC, Appiah who captained Ghana to their historic first World Cup appearance in 2006 believes the current squad has enough talent to compete deep into the tournament.
Speaking via Betway, he said the team’s return to the global stage should inspire belief.
“The draw is coming up… we are going to America, Canada and Mexico,” Appiah said.
“We have done that before when we went to Germany. And I hope and I know with the calibre of players that we have, we’re going to make it in the next World Cup, which is next year.”
He called on fans to rally behind the team as they begin their journey.
“Good luck. We need your support. We need your prayers. See you in America. See you in Mexico. See you in Canada. Go, Ghana.”
After a group-stage exit in Qatar 2022, the Black Stars are determined to make a stronger impression in 2026.
