Welsh manager, Steeve Cooper has been appointed until June 2027 as manager of Abdul Fatawu Issahaku’s Leicester City.
Cooper previously managed Nottingham Forest before he was hounded out after poor strings of results and performances.
The Foxes, who lost head coach Enzo Maresca to Chelsea after a successful campaign in the 2023/24 Sky bet Championship, believe Cooper’s personality and tactical nous can take the team to the next level.
Cooper previously managed André Ayew at Swansea City in the Championship in 2019 and has a knack for honing young talents, including Raheem Sterling at U-16 level for England.
The newly appointed Leicester City manager shot into prominence after stewarding the Young Lions of England to U-17 glory, where the team outclassed Spain 5-2 in the 2017 tournament in India.
Issahaku’s trajectory under Maresca is expected to go a notch higher with Cooper, managing Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Marc Guehi as part of the U-17 winning side.
The team’s first test is a Premier League date with Spurs at home on August 19, 2024.
