Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga says he will engage the Black Stars players if it is confirmed that they have rejected government’s proposal to pay them US$ 5,000 at the Nations Cup.

The Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi revealed the players had rejected the offer to pay them the amount either they win, lose or draw.

Ayariga says they will listen to the players if they are dissatisfied with the proposal but adds that their rejection is yet to be made official.

“I have read on the internet that the players have rejected the offer but that’s nothing official,” Ayariga said on Joy FM.

“I was with them at Lizzy yesterday and I didn’t hear anything.

“If it is true we will engage them and find a solution.”

Ghana’s Nations Cup squad will leave for their camping base in Seville, Spain on Sunday to prepare for the tournament which starts on 17 January in Equatorial Guinea.
