Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has expressed his admiration for the newly introduced Ghana FA Women’s Strategy.
The strategy, presented to the Minister by Madam Ama Brobbey, the head of the technical directorate of women’s football, on Tuesday, November 10, has received his full support as women’s football in Ghana embarks on a transformative path.
Honourable Ussif commended the strategy’s content and emphasized the government’s commitment to investing in the development of women’s football in every aspect.
He highlighted the construction of over 152 Astro Turf facilities across the country, emphasizing that they are not exclusively for men but are accessible to women and girls. T
The Minister acknowledged the tremendous potential in women’s football and the importance of initiatives like the Women’s Football Strategy in its development.
He envisions a future where every district in Ghana has basic sporting facilities, especially for football, and is dedicated to working towards that goal.
Honourable Ussif pointed to the success of Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the CAF Women’s Champions League as evidence of the government’s and GFA’s support for women’s football.
He firmly believes that, with the right direction and the substantial investments and support given, women’s football is on the path to success.
He expressed his confidence that Ghana could one day win the Women’s World Cup, citing the need for continued support and investment to propel the women’s game to new heights.
