Spezia Calcio vs Atalanta Bergamo – 04/01/2023

Atalanta to boost European hopes at Spezia

2883

On Wednesday night, Spezia and Atalanta go head-to-head at the Stadio Alberto Picco as both teams search for crucial points in Serie A.

The home team is currently in 17th place in the Serie A table, six points clear of the relegation zone. Luca Gotti’s team has won just once in their last eight league outings in the Italian top flight, although they did pick up four points from their previous two league matches before the World Cup.

Last time out, they ended a seven-game winless run by recording a 2-1 victory at Verona.

Spezia have struggled to keep the opposition out of late in Serie A, as they have conceded at least two goals in five of their last eight league matches.

They have become draw specialists of late, drawing four of their last six league matches on home soil. They have also won just once in the six-game run.

La Dea heads into this game on the back of a woeful pre-World Cup run of form. In fact, Gian Piero Gasperini’s team has lost four of their last five matches in Serie A while conceding at least two goals in each of the defeats. Last time out, Atalanta suffered a 3-2 home defeat by Inter.

The poor recent league run of form has led to Atalanta dropping to sixth place in the table, just three points off the Champions League places.

The La Dea have a strong recent away record in Serie A, winning five of their last seven league matches away from home.

However, their recent away games have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of those seven games in their recent stellar away run.

What does Forebet predict?

Forebet predicts that Atalanta will continue their recent stellar away form by recording a victory in a high-scoring encounter.
