Southampton boss Ruben Selles is denying reports that Mohammed Salisu is frozen out of the squad due to “attitude issues.”
Earlier reports this week by the Athletic claimed Salisu had been frozen out of Southampton’s matchday squad due to his unwillingness to sign a new contract.
Salisu has been a regular feature for the South Coast club this season, making 22 appearances in the Premier League as they seek to preserve their top-flight status.
Selles, addressing the reports during his pre-match press conference with the media said;
“We cannot have issues with the attitude of an injured player.
“He was with the national team and could not play because he had some problems. He’s in our injury recovery process and he will regain fitness.”
“Salisu for now is not available for us because of his injury. There’s no issue with his attitude,” Selles concluded.
