Tanzanian women’s football giants Simba Queens have unveiled Ghanaian coach Yussif Basigi as their new trainer.
Basigi joins the Red and White outfit from Hasaacas Ladies, where he spent an impressive 21 years at the helm.
He replaces Juma Mgunda, whose contract expired, and is set to make his debut in the Community Shield Semi-Final.
During his tenure at Hasaacas Ladies, Basigi achieved unprecedented success, including five Ghana Women’s Premier League titles and CAF Women’s Champions League final appearance, where they narrowly lost to Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 51-year-old tactician also led the Ghanaian Women’s National Team (Black Queens) to gold at the 2015 All African Games.
Basigi’s appointment is expected to bolster Simba Queens’ chances in the Tanzanian women’s football scene.
