Sidelined Ben Chilwell celebrates Mason Mount’s strike vs Crystal Palace

Sidelined Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has taken to social media on Sunday, to react to the latest key goal netted by teammate Mason Mount.

Thomas Tuchel’s troops were of course back in action a short time ago.

Days on from being ousted from the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid, the Blues turned their attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, in an FA Cup semi-final showdown with capital rivals Crystal Palace.

And, when all was said and done on this occasion, Chelsea kept alive hopes of clinching at least one piece of silverware come the season’s end.

This came owing to a 2-0 triumph, kicked into gear by substitute Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s opener just beyond the hour mark:

And next on target was the aforementioned Mason Mount, who continued a stellar recent spell of form in front of goal to put the Blues out of sight, and seal a 2-0 triumph:

One individual, meanwhile, who was quick to reveal his appreciation for Mount’s latest efforts was teammate Ben Chilwell.

The England international, of course sidelined long-term at present, quickly took to his official social media platforms on the back of Chelsea’s 2nd of the evening finding the net, to reveal a simple one-word message:

Chelsea’s downing of Palace of course means that the Pensioners must now prepare for yet another cup final under the watch of boss Tuchel, in just shy of a month’s time.

In a repeat of February’s Carabao Cup showpiece, Chelsea will be tasked with getting the better of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

This comes after the Merseysiders emerged triumphant from their own FA Cup final-four outing on Saturday, putting Manchester City to the sword by three goals to two:
