Semper Fi drop points again after stalemate with WAFA in Sogakope

Published: 1 month ago
Division one

Promotion-chasing Semper Fi FC were forced to settle for a goalless draw against WAFA SC in their Access Bank Division One League Zone Three fixture at Sogakope.

The visitors controlled large portions of the contest and created the clearer opportunities but failed to convert when it mattered most.

WAFA remained compact at the back, with their goalkeeper producing key saves to keep the scoreline unchanged.

The outcome extends Semper Fi’s winless run to four matches, including three successive draws.

Despite the setback, they remain well placed in the promotion hunt, sitting second in the Zone Three standings with 29 points from 15 matches.

Semper Fi will now shift attention to their next test against True Democracy as the second round of the season begins next weekend.
