Ghanaian striker Antoine Semenyo scored a crucial late goal to secure a draw for AFC Bournemouth against Nottingham Forest, opening his account for the new season.
Semenyo’s equalizer, which came with just four minutes remaining, cancelled out Chris Wood’s early strike for the hosts.
Nottingham Forest had taken the lead in the 23rd minute, but Bournemouth’s efforts were initially thwarted when a goal was ruled out by VAR.
Dango Ouattara thought he had levelled for the visitors, but his effort was also denied by a review.
However, Semenyo’s persistence paid off in the final minutes, as he smashed home from close range to earn a deserved draw for Bournemouth.
Unfortunately, the match was marred by a horrific leg injury to Forest midfielder Danilo, who was stretchered off the field.
Semenyo’s goal marked a milestone, as he became the first Ghanaian player to find the back of the net in the Premier League this season.
