Ghana’s Black Princesses earned another convincing victory over Benin in the ongoing 2025 WAFU B U20 Girls’ Cup, with midfielder Sarah Nyarko once again stealing the spotlight.
The Dreamz Ladies playmaker continued her fine form, scoring the opener in Ghana’s 2–0 win on Monday morning, her third goal in as many matches.
Nyarko pounced on a rebound inside the area after the Benin goalkeeper had parried an initial attempt, calmly placing the ball into the right corner to give Ghana the early advantage.
Her relentless work rate and pressing up front proved vital for Charles Sampson’s side, as Ghana dictated much of the game’s tempo and created several scoring opportunities.
At full-time, Nyarko’s outstanding display earned her the Player of the Match award — her first of the tournament.
The 19-year-old, who was part of the Black Queens’ recent training camp, continues to show why she’s considered one of the most promising young talents in Ghanaian women’s football.
Having already found the net against Benin in their opening game and scored again in the 3–1 defeat to Nigeria, Sarah’s latest goal further cements her influence in the team’s attacking setup.
Coach Sampson will now look to build on that momentum when the Black Princesses face Nigeria once more in their final group match on Tuesday, November 11.
