Medeama SC underlined their title credentials with a gritty 2-1 away win over Vision FC, stretching their lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League after Saturday’s encounter at the Nii Adjei Kraku Stadium.
The Tarkwa-based side once again leaned on the brilliance of Salim Adams, whose deadly set-piece delivery proved decisive. After drawing Medeama level with a thunderous second-half free kick, Adams had the final say in dramatic fashion, curling home another superb effort in the fourth minute of added time to snatch all three points.
Vision FC had started brightly and were rewarded in the first half when Faruk Mohammed calmly finished to put the home side ahead, capping off a confident opening spell. Medeama, however, remained composed, gradually asserting themselves despite seeing less of the ball.
True to their reputation, the league leaders were ruthless in key moments. With limited possession, they maximised their opportunities, hitting the target twice and scoring on both occasions. Vision FC enjoyed more control of the game but lacked the cutting edge to make their dominance count.
The win keeps Medeama firmly in control of the title race, opening up a seven-point cushion at the summit and extending their winning streak to three matches. For Vision FC, the defeat leaves them 12th on the table and searching for consistency as the season progresses.
